This group covers the bars, diners, family restaurants, fast-food spots and other kitchens that serve pizza alongside a broader menu. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Sports bars fill up on game nights and often run pizza-and-pitcher specials; diners and fast-food chains keep long hours, sometimes around the clock. Sales tax is added at the register on top of menu prices.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 4β9 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (916) 476-3889. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is thehopgardens.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 586 reviews, which is a strong result for a bar in Sacramento and suggests consistent service.
Sacramento is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Sacramento follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Picture the day... It is 95 outside, late August. I am cycling home from Downtown and I see this oasis. I see outdoor seating, I smell pizza in the air. I stop, and within an easy minute I have an ice-cold lager in my hand bringing me back to life. I highly recommend.

5/24/26 Another Review From when Visiting Sacramento with Fam. We had looked up different places and this place looked good and was open. Very cool spot. Has some seating inside and huge patio dining outdoors too. You order inside get your beer or drink and head on out to a bench seating tables . Weather was great to sit outside . We got an order of meatballs to split , and I had the Fig truffle sandwich. It was very tasty and light refreshing . Had a great stout beer to go along with and wife had a pilsner beer that she enjoyed . Fam had gotten some tater tots and something else I can't remember but all in all cool spot to hang out and grab a bite to eat. Service was great too bringing the food out . They have water station as well to get waters which was nice . Would come back again to try more stuff . Enjoy !!!!

I LOVE this find. At the site of the eclectic Coffee Garden (remember the hidden room?!) is this lovely and delicious spot. Honestly, it exceeded any expectation. At a gf's recommendation I tried the potato wedges with bacon and aioli. OMG, writing this I'm drooling. SO SO good and enough for 2 or 3! I'm told the pizza is awesome, but I haven't moved past the appetizer. I appreciate the covered, big tables & TVs and have enjoyed going solo and with a group. It's awesome. I've now met the owners and they are friendly and helpful when arranging a group event; great community members, too. I can't say enough!

Our absolute favorite place to snag a killer, delicious pizza. Be forewarned that it can get wildly packed with family groups Fridays, Saturdays and Tuesdays. Weβve been here several times, more quiet and relaxed most weekday evenings, Saturdays have been insanely busy with tons of kids running around playing tag and getting up to mayhem haha. Only knocking down the atmosphere one because the kids can get kind of rambunctious, to no fault of the staff or restaurant, definitely on some parents to be gracious to other patrons trying to eat. All in all, the team here is great, and most importantly the food and especially the pizza is absolutely divine, a must try!

Came here for a friend's birthday. Good food, lots of drink options. I appreciate the water stations. Lines will be long when busy for ordering and bathroom. Patio was great, love that it is mostly shaded, great breeze after the sunset. Food was decent, not a fan of the flatbread sandwich, basically a pizza folded into a sandwich, too much bread. The kid's pizza was pretty tasty. Packed patio in the evening so it got loud making it hard to hear if the person talking isn't right next to you. Staff was friendly and took care of bussing the tables as soon as they could. Parking was hard to find as it's street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. Overall, great time here.
